nPhyla Receives BC Ignite Funding
nPhyla, in partnership with Dr. Steven Hallam at the University of British Columbia, is proud to be one of five recipients of Innovate BC’s 2024 Ignite program. This $300,000 award will accelerate the development of our genomics intelligence platform, designed to support sustainable mining practices across British Columbia and beyond.
Our platform integrates environmental DNA (eDNA) and microbiome analytics into a system that delivers practical insights for biodiversity monitoring, microbial process optimization, and regulatory compliance. By translating complex biological signals into actionable data, we aim to make environmental genomics a core part of how industry understands and manages natural systems.
About the BC Ignite Program
Innovate BC’s Ignite program accelerates collaborative research and development projects in the natural resources and applied sciences. Funding is awarded to teams composed of B.C.-based industry and academic partners working together to commercialize cutting-edge innovations with strong market potential. The program supports initiatives that address real-world challenges in clean technology, life sciences, and engineering.
nPhyla’s award highlights the potential of genomics-driven innovation to help mining companies meet evolving environmental requirements while improving operational performance.
We’re grateful to Innovate BC for recognizing our work and investing in science that can make a tangible impact in the field.
